About me

David DSC_6800.JPGlives in the centre of Eltham and has campaigned tirelessly for the whole community. Because he lives locally and uses the same services and shops as local people, he understands what concerns local people and relates to people outside the bubble of politics.

He has previously worked in business development and was a senior member of William Hague’s private staff between 1997 and 1999.  He has been a political campaigner for nearly 20 years and is passionate about education, opportunity for young people and enabling people to achieve their aspirations.

David holds a number of honorary positions, including a Vice-Presidency of the Small Business Bureau. He has served in various capacities for charities including Abbeyfield Care Homes and Sue Ryder Care. He has raised considerable funds for Breast Cancer charities through participation in the Moonwalk marathons in central London in memory of his mother who passed away in April 2005 at the age of 55.

David is a keen supporter of local community and voluntary organisations including Demelza. He is especially keen to preserve local parks and open spaces and strongly opposes redevelopment of playing fields.  He has been a determined opponent of cuts to local NHS services and wants to achieve higher living standards for families and pensioners.

David is a graduate of Royal Holloway University of London and lives in the heart of the constituency.  He has four godchildren and is Deputy Chair of governors at Ealdham primary school.
